Does anyone know of someone who can reline the inside of a gas tank?

You can do it... Get some POR15...

http://www.por15.com/

Pour some in, swish it around, and dump it out.... Supposedly works pretty good..

I think the problem though, is it has some rust in it.  It's for a friend and I haven't seen the tank.

Hey, Brock...

That's exactly what the POR15 is for. It's kinda like an epoxy that swishes around then hardens to a rock like surface that seals in the old rust and prevents it from coming back. Better than a paint because the additive kills the rust...

POR-15® is a high-tech, high performance rust-preventive coating designed for application directly on rusted or seasoned metal surfaces. It dries to an incredible rock-hard, non-porous finish that won't chip, crack, or peel, and it prevents rust from recurring by protecting metal from further exposure to moisture.

Use it to coat rusty frames, floor pans, farm equipment, marine equipment, or even a heavily corroded battery tray.

POR-15® is sensitive to UV light (sun) and must be topcoated for prolonged exposure to sunlight.
Topcoating is not required for areas not exposed to sunlight.

Pint............      $29.95
Quart.........      $44.95
Gallon........    $143.00

Hope this helps..

But is it designed to be in constant contact with gasoline?

From what I understand.

A buddy of mine recommended it. He uses it in his race cars.

In case you are weary of that product, I used the Google Machine and found this as well....
