Polar Bear Pickin
« on: December 27, 2008, 05:37:42 AM »

This is not motorcycle related unless you make it that way and I have never been to it. I planned to go last year but didn't.
It's basically an acoustic jam session/campout held in the Piney woods of NE Texas just North of Tyler. I think most of the pickers there will be of the Luckenbach genre. Just sounds like a good way to break the monotony of winter.

I plan to make it if it's not pouring rain. I can deal with the cold.  Jan. 16-18, 2009

I'll look at it as it gets closer, don't have a work schedule yet, that is if I still have a job.

That may not be the best job. I heard that a Wal-Mart door greeter got trampled to death right before Christmas as he tried to unlock the doors to let the shopping freaks in.  :o :o :o

Guess what? I guess he was to slow and there was somebody waiting to take his place the next day. ;D ;D ;D  Like I said, somebody got to die before you can get a job.  8) 8)

I know this is Texas and this is a ways off yet but the long range forecast is calling for rain with temps in the 50's Sat. and Sunday.  >:(

I'm eating my words again. I said I could deal with the cold.  ::) I just looked at the long range forecast for that area and they are saying down to freezing both nights and not getting out of the fifties in the day time. If I go, it will be in the cage and I won't be camping.  :c

I just called. They don't have any idea how many pickers are coming. They had forty people there last year but it wasn't as cold as it's going to be this year. Hotel/Motel is within 15 miles.

See ya if you're there.  :violin:
