Honda Tool Kit?
« on: June 28, 2006, 07:33:59 PM »

One major complaint I have with Honda as it regards my recent purchase of the new Spirit - was told it came with NO tool kit.  I whined and they gave me a whimpy bag with a couple cheap pieces in it.

VTX same same???

mine came with a 2 box wrenches, pliers, a screwdriver, and shock tool with and extention on in which also has a flat head screwdriver.  I think that was all.

I got a basic kit with mine.  It's not everything that you want, but pretty much what you might "need."

I was reading the same thing on the shadow board - people complaining b/c their 06's aren't coming w/ tool kits. So it's not just you!

YUP!!

I finally called Honda and they said they no longer put a tool kit in the bikes.  If you got one at all, it would probably only be a screwdriver and handle, or just enough to get to the battery.

Dang it!!

Appears Honda's getting super greedy... everything's an option or extra cost accessory :(

Both Kawasaki and Suzuki outfit their products with a very nice, fairly completely toolkit.

My 2006 X came with only a couple of screw drivers.  I went in to ask why I didn't get the shock tool and was told they no longer came with the bike.  $8 later I walked out with the shock tool. >:(

Yeah, I've hear starting in 06 they don't include it, but 05 and down does.

I can speak to the fact that there's some good tools in the kit on my 1800C. I've had to pull the side cover and fix the shifter linkage on the side of the road once and I had plenty of tools to do the job.
