While I'm delighted to see all the posts on this message board in support of our God-given Second Amendment right, it really bums me out that what appears to be a voting majority of people in our country (most of whom don't post on this board) either seem to feel otherwise or just don't care.

Niterider, I believe I am one of whom you speak. I have guns, believe in everyones right to carry and use as needed...but I will not vote for someone just because of their stand on this issue, forgetting all else. The "some don't care" thing works both ways, some don't care for gun issues, some care for nothing but. Many are voting for a president, not just someone who furthers their gun rights.

This is why I'm a libertarian.  The dems and reps want you to give up on certain batches of rights to ensure others... neither party seems to understand that the erosion of rights is a terrible slope, and they've both gone down the hill far too far already.
