I got the same news from the dealer when I questioned the oil on my shocks. Around $400. Most of that is the time involved. You can save a lot of money if you do a lot of the work yourself to remove the front forks. You can cut that cost in less than half if you remove the forks and take them in only for the seal replacement. However, I was shown a neat trick by j1mmyj4m to clean my fork seals. As I was told sometimes dirt and such get in up under the seals and cause some slight leaking. As was my case. j1mmyj4m told me to use a 35 mm negative film strip to slip up under the seals and sweep it around the shock to clean out any dirt between it and the seal. This worked for me.
