New ride in the stable
« on: August 18, 2008, 03:14:02 AM »

I've been lookin for over a year for Susie another scoot and a bunch of'em  I've seen with the thought of  'that's the one" in my mind but something always said "no" so I waited. Well I found the one I was looking for and here is the story:
I heard about it from a guy at work and after talking to him I'm thinking "Holy Shoot" and I called the owner and talked a few minuets and after that I had pretty well made up my mind that this was the one for several reasons.
The guy bought it when it was in the crate from the stealer in April 06 and they installed Cobra pipes and a Memphis windshield. He rode dirt bikes for years but was afraid to ride the streets after he bought it becacuse of all the idot's we deal with out there. He wanted and had to have $7,000 for the pay off and that was the bottom line. Retail on the bike was (blue book) $7325 so it was in line with what I was lookin for. The bike has never been down and only has one polishable scratch on the tank by the seat.  Anyway we drove to Crowell ( 90 miles the other side of Wichita Falls ) Friday, saw it and loaded her up on the trailer and headed home.

                                          Susie's new 1300 VTX

It's a beautiful machine, kept in a carport, covered, and runs like champ. OK it's 17 months old and maybe not brand new but was in excelant shape. The guy did the 500 mile service and nothing else to it but the tires still have the titties and factory balance marks painted on the wheels and tires. I guess another reason I had to have it was because it only had 1166 miles on it at the time.

Can you say a brand new 06??????  Damn it!!! I get to start hanging bling all over again!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations...I did almost the same thing.  I bought a brand new '06 in January '08...same bike so no reason to get all bent out of shape on a year number.

Yep when she gets use to riding it at a slower pace, I'll spray on some speed.  ;D 8) O0
