gas mileage

I have heard several people say they get 45-50 mpg. I dont ride mine very hard and I get between 40 and 42. I almost had my pops talked into one cept he gets 50 mpg on his and wont settle for less. Could it be the exhaust or intake. The bike is still new and is mostly stock. Did anyone notice an increase in mpg after mods?

I generally get in the mid 40s when I bother to check anymore. Now that gas is down again in the low 2's, I'm spending less and that's what counts.

Mod Mileage is a good question... my 1800 is stock, I get 34-37 city.
usually about 149 before the fuel light comes on. But it's a lot better
than the 15-17 I get in my truck.

A lot of gas mileage has to do with fuel volatility. The gas we get here in the metroplex area and Houston will NOT get the same mileage as what you get out in West Texas. I get about 17 in my F-150 on gas from here and 20 or better on gas I buy in Lubbock area. Good ol government and tree huggers at work

I get between 45 to 50 depending on how I drive.Although just to be on the safe side when out on the highway stop at around 140 miles on the tank time for a break anyway.

I am not sure what riding hard or soft is but I have put about 8 grand in 4 months on mine. I average about 48/gallon all stock parts. I usually stop around 160 for tank time but have been known to use the reserve a time or two as well.

If they're talking switching to reserve, you know it's a 1300. 18s have a light.

On my 1300, I got 38-44 stock but after I re-jetted to a 220 jet and put cobra pipes and a hypercharger on with a k&n I get around 48-52 on the hwy. but most of my riding is done in town right now and I run it hard from light to light so I have been getting 39-41 but thats in town mpg

I dont know what you guys are doing,
I have a 1300, Ultraflow, with cobra slip ons, I get between 35 to 42
when im in the hill country i get slightly better. I dont take my time getting up to the speedlimit, but i dont give it full throttle everytime either.
I think you are all lying!
