Oh yeah, I forgot what the original question was...   The answer is...  After you've gone 30 mph for 2 miles, even if Scotty beams you to the other end at the speed of light, you still ain't gonna average 60 mph cause you've already used up the 4 minutes time limit you need to meet for averaging 60 mph.

well... actually, if you hit the 2 mile mark and Scotty IMMEDIATELY and INSTANTANEOUSLY teleports you to the end, then you'd have averaged the 60.  LOL

You're right...  Hipshot didn't specify whether or not you were going to run into any wormholes connecting the time/space continuums of the 2 mile mark and the destination, causing you to arrive at the end before you left the starting point.  I guess not enough information to answer the question.
