Gary

Try "Discount Motorcycle Tires" in Pasadena. Just did both tires on the FJR with Avons. They gave me the best price I could find, in town, on both the tires and the mounting.

good luck bud,

Martin

Ditto to VT-XS' comment...I have gotten all my tires from Discount and they are the best in my opinion.

Just make sure you check your axle bolts once they're done.

ps to Gary

I guess I would avoid any business establishment that might not put the bolts that hold your tires on to your motorcycle frame back correctly.  My problem is that the thought of me riding around on wheels that I, Martin Lide, installed is completely terrorfying. I don't even know how to check them.

So far so good on the FJR.

Swampy,

Sorry I forgot to PM you.  The Avons are what I'm using, and our back tire is a 170/80-15.  I found a local shop who price-matched RideNow's prices, and then they put the tires on for $10 a wheel (I brought them the wheels).  If you want to use a local shop, ask them first if they'll price-match what you find elsewhere.  Then find out how much it is to change the tires per wheel, and if there is a difference in price if you bring them the whole bike or just the wheels.

I thought about it and have to say Discount  Motorcycle Tires was the best for me being my first tire replacement.  I was a little pressed for time and just not sure what I should buy so it was the easiest way to getter done today.  Now I have no excuse not to ride Sunday in what may be the worst weather that I will have ever rode in.  For the Record 170/something  149.95 Avon rear mount 32.50. Avon front 124.95 plus 27.50 mount. Also got State Inspection 14.50 and thats not all RD that works there made lasagna I was hurting from drinking coffee and not eating acid stomach man it hit the spot.  Great camaraderie from staff and patrons so I have to say I'm please even if I paid to much.  :)

The tail of the Fox is wagging!  So thanks to the Xer's I'm ready to ride.

Make sure you check your tire pressure, too.  I run what the Avon says to run...42psi front/50psi rear!  I've gotten great results with these tires/pressures.  O0
