wtb screws for front brake reservoir cover today
« on: April 11, 2008, 01:02:40 PM »

I am looking for screws for  my front brake reservoir cover, called Honda of Houston they can order them and have them by Wed but of course I want them now. He said they were 4 x 12 and thought that was in mm, didn't sound real sure on the phone. Anyone know where I can get that kind of secrews? I was thinking of Lowes or Home Depot.

I have new custom cover and want to put it on now, started to do it and am pretty sure the tops of the screws are going to be toast once I get them off.

thanks

So you haven't tried to pull them yet and your already planning on messing them up.  ???  :D ;D ;D
Just make sure you get the right screwdriver.

Ace probably has them, but you need the correct head shape and you need to know the thread pitch.

Did you try Northwest's used bike and parts store?

NW has them in chrome in stock and Lowes had them in regular. But they right now they are stripped so I can't get them out >:(.

sherri,
You need to get a #2 JIS phillips and you won't have to worry about 'camming' out a phillips slot again!  JIS is Japanese Industry Standard.  You may be able to purchase them in Dallas somewhere, or wherever you are.......Tyler didn't have any.  I had to order mine off the Net.
I have since found that the 'cheapo' drivers at Harbor Freight, made in China, are actually JIS!!  Crafstman drivers are some of the closest American made to the JIS, but, nothing beats the real ones!  You won't believe how well they seat.....amazing difference!  O0
