tom cat - look at this...
« on: January 28, 2008, 07:18:14 PM »

I got this in an email, thought I would share...

Quote
On Monday morning, Nov 19, 2007 just12 miles west of Amarillo, we were pulling up Rowley hill, going 15 Mph & the wind was blowing about 50 mph & we ran into thousand's of Tumbleweeds come to a dead stop in about 5 car length's, they blew under Our Drivers & we lost all our traction & were dead in the water.

We had 3 Engines & got 2 more engines off another train & Still couldn't move. We were stuck there for 5hrs & 35 min. & finally Had to Back down the hill & let another crew take over because we ran out of Time To work, crazy huh?     Stacy

COOL PIC'S

The Sons of the Pioneers

Tumbling Tumble Weed Song

See them tumbling down
Pledging their love to the ground
Lonely but free I'll be found
Drifting along with the tumbling tumble weed
Cares of the past are behind
Nowhere to go but I'll find
Just were the trail will wind
Drifting along with the tumbling tumble weed
I know when night has gone
That a new world's born at dawn
I'll keep rolling along
Deep in my heart is a song
Here on the range I belong
Drifting along with the tumbling tumble weed
I know when night has gone
That a new world's born at dawn
I'll keep rolling along
Deep in my heart is a song
Here on the range I belong
Drifting along with the tumbling tumble weed

Also sung by Jack Palance in the movie "City Slickers" O0

Thanks
Now I'll have this song in my head for 2 days.

 :)

Here I belong, I tried to stay in Pearl Harbor, I have never regretted coming home from another place since. Some were born to love this, no other place is home. Though I would not recommend this place to any one, I love it. God made some of us this way, Who am I to doubt his wisdom.

They're fun to hit on the highway.....they explode!

Well...not really. They're so brittle, not much is left but stems. ;D

With small ones, what RD said is so, they tend to attract them selves in a huge mass, They are brittle but only the small ones should be run over with a bike, If it is bigger than your front wheel avoid it. If it is bigger than your bike, It can drag you down into the ditch, Tumble weeds have built in stickers, Not a fun thing to deal with. They can be crossing the road any time of year. When passing through my part of Texas, watch out for tumble weeds. They can ruin your day.
