Exhaust Mods & Other Options
« on: January 18, 2008, 09:47:06 AM »

 :-\

OK guys & gals.  I'm a new VTX 1300C owner (2006 with "0" miles)  who's been reading the forum for a few weeks.  I am interested in the Clayton Mod and or new pipes.  Obviously the Mod is the least $$ way to go.  However, I read somewhere that someone slipped on a set of Harley OEM pipes (slip-ons; not sure which model) and claimed to have a sweet sound.  Cost $30!! used.  Sounds like I want to learn more.

Anyone out there remember this thread?  I cannot seem to find it now.  I'm not even sure which forum I was reading.

Any leads are appreciated.

Here is one of the replies from the link above.

"I've got a set of H.D.Sporster muffins on my 13. Buddy gave them to me so I Drilled the center baffle with a 5/16th bit and did a little metal work for bracing-same application as with the JCWhitney install. Sounds good especially when I open it up. Plus side if I were to get pulled their stock mufflers....."
