What are your feet worth? Like most things in life, you get what you pay for and when you go down.............you'll wish you spent a million dollars on your gear. Motorcycle specific gear does cost more than off the shelf work boots but work boots are not designed to prevent the type of impact injuries you will see in a bike crash like ankle and heel injuries. Sure the work boot is better than nothing, but like I said........... What are YOUR feet worth?SIDI Canyon GortexGreat protection and fit for about $250.00 Everyone seems to sell them right around $250.00.Find them here.http://www.motonation.com/I got mine from British Motorcycle on College street and I-45 for $200.00. They have one of the best stocks of apparel and gear in town and they carry high end quality stuff. Price tag was $250.00 but they only charged me $200.00. Not sure if they screwed up or what, but I wasn't going to bring it to their attention! IMHO........Don't waste your money on Harley labeled boots. From what I've seen of their boots, their best boot offers about "middle of the road" protection and quality that a real motorcycle specific boot offers. As with most of their apparal line, they are more concerned with looks than protection. OK you Harley lovers.............Now that I've hit a nerve.............flame on!
I didn't say I was scared of wrecking when I ride. It's just the smart thing to do because if you ride long enough......statiscally you will go down. It dosen't make a difference how good a rider you are or how much experience you have either. Too many dumbass cagers out there and road hazards particulare to bikes that you can not control that can do you in. I've seen a lot of carnage in 35 years of riding and racing. It pays big time to wear good gear EVERYTIME you ride. I'll admit I let my gaurd down every now and then and don't dress accordingly sometimes when I ride. Just remember............You'll be wearing the same gear when you got on the bike as when you get off of it and you it the concrete.
