If you have a gif (animated) pic and want a large avatar, post it on the web somewhere, open the pic to it's largest form, right click on it and hit properties. Then copy the url that appears in the dialouge box.
Go to your profile, to Forum Profile Information, And put the url in the I have my own pic box. Go to the bottom and save (update). That's it.
