I agree. I rode to Daytona with one on my second trip and it was comfortable the whole way. Honda should at least put some memory gel like the BadX seat mod on their stock seat. It wouldn't cost anymore and I like the styling of the stock seat but don't like sitting on plywood.

They could've at least done a little research to see what a human butt is actually shaped like before they designed that seat...

Plywood would be a huge improvement.  ;D It just amazes me that after 5 years they still can't make it a little more comfortable without driving up the base price. Do ya think their engineers ever actually sit on the bike for more than 5 minutes?

Post those plywood plans up when you get them done...I'm cheap though, so if you could work up some 1/4" melamine plans too that'd be great!  O0

I have not upgraded yet, but from my research (personal and from others who have them), Mustang is one of if not the best.  Other option, more pricey, is Corbin.

Corbin seats are top drawer stuff, but they have a bad reputation for customer service. I cannot offer any personal experiences with them. Mustang and Ultimate are the two foremost brands which come to mind. I have an Ultimate, and I just don't see how a seat could get any better than that. There are other manufacturers who make seats for the VTX: some are oriented toward specific sizes and/or shapes of riders. I'd suggest a search on VTXOA for all the available options, as well as feedback.

I actually ran a poll on the main VTXOA board and the Ultimate won first place but Mustang came in a close second. I have the Ultimate but I think each rider should sit on one to see which they like better.
