I just got a K&N filter for the stock housing. Do I need to do anything to the engine (rejet, whatever) or just pop that sucker in?

If all you're doing is adding the K&N, just pop that sucker in. Yer done. It's not even an "open a beer" job
. If you haven't messed with your X much, be sure not to overtighten those airbox cover screws
.
