The Motorcycle Shop - Hurst
« on: August 27, 2007, 04:33:01 AM »

Anyone ever use this place for service?  I stopped in and talked to the owner Ricky on Saturday about doing my valve check.  I got a good impression talking to him and his price was reasonable.  He said when he does a valve check he also syncs the carbs and his price was much lower than the stealer.  He said he has done a lot of VTX's and has rarely found one outside specs.

hey Monte I was there on Saturday as well. I however was not nearly as impressed. His shop guys seemed like they would rather cut off thier litle members than even look at my Honda. All I wanted to do was get a tire mounted and after the attitude and basically the brush off I got, I will never give them my business. When I left there I went to another shop (cant remember the name) but it is closer to 820 on hwy10 thier labor was 60 per hour and seemed very genuine. You might want to try them out before you comit to Ricky. IMO O0

Hey X-aholic....I have no idea what you are talking about. I usually use North-rast cycle for my tire stuff. The only tire repair I've had to do is a flat fixed and he took care or it quickly and I believe it was $60.
All kidding aside we all missed you and Justin on Sunday...awesome ride. I did drive by Justin's later Saturday afternoon to check out the party but didn't see any bikes.

I've used Ricky a few times for some custom welding and he has always done a great job. Have not used him for any repairs. I would recomend Tapper in Allen for valve adjustment and other various repairs, he has an excellent reputation. Also Piper Performance in NRH off of Davis blvd custom mapped my bike and mounted some tires for me, very nice guy also.

I would use Tapper, but that is too far for me to go to be able to arrange a pick up.  I may give this guy in Hurst a shot.

If things don't work out with Ricky let me know, might be able to follow you out there to tappers and bring ya' back. I'll probably have the same dilema pretty soon.

Got the tribal cover for the thunder tornado from you guessed it HDL. They got a sale coming up!
