How wide can I go?
« on: June 21, 2007, 04:27:56 PM »

I initially thought about buying the 1300 and ordered Metzler 200s to place on the stock rim;  Does anyone have and idea how big I can go on a stock 1800F rim?

Also, what are ya'll suggesting for replacement mirrors?

Much thanks from a new 1800F owner.

Welcome Mike!!
I have a 1800c and the biggest tire is a 200 you can put on it. I have Metzlers on mine and it is really close to the drive shaft to the point I can't put my finger between it and the tire. I know you can get a 210 and 240 kit and have to change the swing arm / rear fender to do that. So yes 200 is biggest with stock!!  8) Mirrors hmmm there are all kinds. I have Indian mirrors on mine. Just whatever makes you happy I say!!  Good luck. ;D

You will like the 200 and looks great on the bike!!

Thanks for your inputs.   A newswing arm and fendor are way off in the future if and when I decide to go 240.

I was kind of vague on the question of which mirrors to go with .... I want someting with style like the arlen ness mirrors but have no idea if I give up some safety for improving the cool factor

If everything seems under control, you're just not going fast enough.
