Dull finish on my wheels
« on: May 18, 2007, 07:45:24 AM »

I would like to have my wheels polished to a chrome like shine or maybe have them chromed. Does anyone know where I can have that done and how much it would cost?
Like the wheels but don't like the finish.

well.... you can do a chrome exchange with Handler (search will help with that). Or, you can do the polish by hand using sand paper and buffing wheels. The second will take A LOT longer, but is basically free. the chromer has to polish them anyway before they're chromed, so you could look for a chromer and see if they'd do just the polish, then get that Mother's powerball thingy and keep 'em shiny on your own. I polished my fork lowers and top triple clamp by hand. It took a long time, but it's nice enough for me. search here and especially on the national board for handler and polishing. there are lots of threads.
