My bike has no protection, it sits outside 24/7. About five days before Mardis Gras, a hailstorm was approaching, so I put the Dowco cover I've had for about ten years over it to protect it. The dowco has been used maybe ten times in the ten years. It is the biggest they make. With my trunk mounted behind the passenger seat, it pulls the cover reeallll snug. 1800's have a hydraulic clutch. If your cover is too tight and it keeps your lever pulled in, it will "bleed" off, and you may end up doing what I had to do...bleed the system before you get to ride anywhere. If the system hadn't leaked off and the clutch springs were compressed for that period of time, I guess i might have needed to replace the clutch springs also. I made it to Mardis Gras about two to three hours late, because of this. I will make wedges to put under the levers before I use it again, to keep them from pulling in and leaking off. I guess I was just kucky it didn't keep my brake lever pulled in too. The brake could do this on you 1300 riders, just a word of caution. or, if the cover is left on too long, a 1300s clutch springs might be weakened from staying pulled in too long. Probably never happen to anyone else but... you were warned!
