I Always Wondered Where........
« on: April 05, 2007, 05:05:15 PM »

I always wondered where my motorcycling interest came from since no one and I mean no one in my family ever had interest is bikes, then one day my mother showed me a photo she found in an old box of her father and mother on their honeymoon in 1913.  I sent the pic to AMA to determine what bike this was and they said it was an early 1900's Harley with a factory side car.  I wish Grandpa had kept the bike and passed it on to me!!! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

That's cool. I was talking to my Grandmother a few months back and she was telling me her mother, my Great Grandmother, rode a motorcycle until she was an older woman. I'm not sure how old. My Grandmother never said an age she just said she was pretty old when she stopped riding. She died when she was I believe 93.

No teeth or at least they were not very clean teeth. That would be my guess.

I always wondered that myself. must have been something of that day and time.  Man, when I am heading off on my bike, that is when I am the happiest and smiling all the way.

You might have a valid point there Headguess, dental work was a long way from what it is now.

My father was discharged from the Navy after WWII and bought a surplus military Harley. He rode it home to West Texas and sold it. Still wish I had that bike(even if it was a Harley).
