You first have to upload the phot to a web hosting site such as Photo Bucket.  Go to this site and you can see mine. It's free and very user friendly. There are others this just happens to be the one I use.

The pic has t have a web address (url), meaning it has to be posted in a web page to access it. We have our own gallery... but for some unfathomable reason,(to me) everybody wants to use other hosts. Irregardless, right click on the pic you want for your avatar or to put in a post....go to properties, copy the url listed in the dialog box. Put that in your avatar listing, or use the img button on the toolbar above the box you type your post into...it is the one below the Italic
button. Put the url you copied in between the img]put url here [/img] brackets.
To practice, right click on the Logo above....copy the address (url) in the dialog box. it should be: http://www.vtxoa.com/txriders_small.gif .  Hit reply in any post... hit the img button above the second and third smiley (or below the italic button)and put your url in between the inner ][ brackets: it should look like this *img]http://www.vtxoa.com/txriders_small.gif[/img], except the asterick should be a [ bracket too. If I had put the bracket in the example, it would just show the picture as in .
You don't have to use the img button, you can just type in the image on / image off switch brackets. Or you can paste in the url, right click and highlight it, then hit the img button andit will automaticallythrow the required brackets around the highlighted url. Hope this helps. Oh yeah...if you do reply to a post to practice... go back and delete it after you see if it works out ok. Good luck.

Snake, You are going to have to show me that sometime. I can never get it to work. That is why I use the photo bucket. I'm sure it's something I am doing wrong.
