Dyno Results!!!
« on: February 24, 2007, 09:47:27 AM »

Best run:

Max HP 98.39
Torque  114.64

Overall, I am very happy.  This ol' boy knows what he's doing...  He flattened my A/F curve out and the bike runs/responds so much better now.

Here's what I've done.
PCIII
Vance and Hines Big Shots w/ Baffles
Thunder Tornado
De-Smog
Mobil 1 Synthetic
Synthetic Oil in the Final Drive
and 87 Octane is all that I run in the X.

Great numbers and congratulations. I have a 02 c model 1800 and have been considering getting
a custom map. How much were the charges, and how many pulls did he do if you dont mind me
asking. Kinda new here, but thinking about getting this done in Lake Charles or maybe in McKinney
where you and others have had good results. Thanks, Randy

The first 30 minutes or so he works on the A/F ratio.  Once he has that set up he does three pulls.  I have heard good things about the shop in Lake Chuck, too.  Check with Bill (Dusty) about the guy in Lake Charles, he had some good results there.

I can't believe the difference in performance/smoothness/response in the bike since the custom map.  I was a hold out for the longest believing the downloadable maps from the web were all I needed.  Boy, was I wrong.   :P

Thanks, and think I am going to give it a try. Have been running rich with download maps.
Ready for Dyno! Thanks again.

Good numbers Brad! I was very pleased with my dyno as well. I went a year on a downloaded map and my performance after the dyno was a very noticable improvement! I used Third Coast Speed. The guys name is Mike. 337-491-8933. He looked at my map, ran the bike, looked again and decided to take it back to zero and start over. If anyone uses him and wants a graph, you may have to tell him. Everything he gave me was in chart form.
I havn't really talked to Mike about it but he may entertain a group rate if a group (4-5 bikes) could schedule the same day with him. He charged me $218.00 including tax. I'm guessing at the number of bikes but he spent about 2 hours on mine but we did a lot of talking.

Let me know if I can help,

Bill

Did you have to make an appointment or did you just show up there and wait?

I made an appointment with him.  He only does one appointment per day.  He said he likes to do them early (8:00am) on Saturdays before he actually opens his shop at 9:00am.  Very cool guy and is really into making bikes perform better.  Word of caution, though.  I almost left his shop with nitrous.   ;D

Did you get a dual map for each cylinder or a single map for both?

Single for both.
