I got christened today
« on: May 14, 2006, 02:47:21 PM »

More like baptized. Or drowned. WHew!

DH wanted to run to radio shack for something and I decided to go too. It was a nice looking day - we knew we were in for rain but it didn't look imminent. We thought we'd get a small ride in before it hit.

Well, we didn't leave early enough I guess!

It just started sprinkling when we left and we were like "okay, a light rain won't be so bad". Rode to RS (1/2 mile from house) and it was still a light sprinkle. THey didn't have what we needed so we decided to ride to Walmart.

Got there - still not looking bad. Went to automotive, then electronics and then I heard it. It was LOUD - so Steve ran outside to get his XM off the bike and grab out helmets. It was a sudden downpour but we thought it'd be over quick. Wandered a little, got drinks at McD's and watched the rain. It just got worse and worse! Hard winds - sideways rain - parking lot flooding. FINALLY - about 45 min later it's down to a small steady rain. Not heavy. Not real windy.

My FIRST time riding in the rain. Wasn't bad - but it was cold and it stings. I was completely soaked when we got home (we were maybe 2 or 3 miles from home). In a white t-shirt to boot.

My daughter laughed and laughed saying it looked like I wet my pants.

Oh - what an interesting mother's day! ROFL!

Well now you can say you know how it feels to ride on wet roads. Not too bad as long as the Crazies stays off the road.......... :D

Jim and I rode our bikes to Jefferson to visit his sister. On the way back it rained for 50 miles. I loved it and it felt great because it was as Hot as what I think Hell would be. Jim being he has a little Cranberries was freezing......hehehehehe

I know the feeling.. My wife and I rode for 2 days straight in the rain once, thankfully we were properly attired.  But I've been caught out with no rain gear before, that get's painful after a while.

But hey as the saying goes, "If you don't ride in the rain.... you don't ride."
