Safe storage in Weatherford
« on: March 02, 2007, 09:48:32 PM »

I've got to go to a class in Weatherford that ends May 18th -- the first day of BBT. I'm not sure what I'll do at this point, but I'm considering trailering my X up there the last week and towing it to BBT. Can anyone recommend a safe place to store it if I choose that option? I'm not sure where I'll be staying yet, but I think it'll be at or close to Weatherford College; they're supposed to include "barracks-type accommodations" in the cost, so I'm guessing it'll be at the school. I don't know anything about Weatherford, so I have no idea where to look for safe storage. Also, I'll need recommendations for dining, washaterias, etc. in that area. I don't know how much studying I'll have to do; I might need a little "night life" guidance as well, if the homework load isn't too bad. Y'all let me know something.

Well, I can't tell you a lot...

But if you're in Weatherford you'll only be about 20 minutes outside of Ft. Worth which has planety of night life down in the Stockyards. Be sure you hit the Icehouse too. As far as storage, Weatherford is big enough that you could rent a stall at a self storage place. Wanda's on 80 is a pretty good place to eat and so is the Main Street Cafe (I think that's the name) on the square. There's lots of good riding out that way too.

The best place to eat in town is Montana Restaurant 1910 S. Main
I was in Weatherford for 3 weeks and everything on there menu is great. O0

Weatherford has many new good eating places Bakers Ribs, Chili's Restaurant, Cracker Barrell, R&K Restaurant, Montana's is really good  O0... I do not have a garage But I do have a storage building I built for mine while I had one, with a guard dog beside it, your welcome to store it here, just bring a cover, it is really dusty out in this cow field I live in.. The College has Dorms on Campus and probably offering that, it is in the center of town and local to everything. I will try to meet up with you when your down here, I live about 13 miles south of the college. We have another guy that lives just about 0.5 mi. north of the Malt Shop, can not remember his name but he runs with Big Bird, and I believe he has a nice Garage at his home.Let me know if I can help.http://www.ci.weatherford.tx.us

Thanks guys!!! I'm still trying to decide what I'm going to do; I'll apparently have a lot of extra equipment from the school or I'd just ride the bike up the last week. But then I'd be riding to the rally in the dark through all those critters on the road on a "let's get drunk and be somebody" night, which isn't too appealing to me. But whether I trailer the bike or not, I still needed the restaurant and beer joint report. Doe anybody know if there is a laundromat at the college?

I am not sure if the college has a laundromat, but there is a public one about three blocks west of the college on Main St. intersecting the road ( sorry, do not know st name ) running east and west, beside the north end of the college across the street from Walgreens to your left. I will check this out a little better before you get here....
