Rear Brake

'03 X 1800R, almost 10K miles...
Noticed that I'm hearing a low moan "wannnk" coming from the rear brake just before coming to a stop. Checked the rotor and pads, nothing too unusual, pads have some meat, rear disc is a little rougher surface than the front. I can say that the the sucker gets hot, real hot. I never felt it before so don't know if that is normal or not. It kinda looks like there is some discoloration to the disc but not like blue.
Any and all opinions will be 'preciated.

Have you actually pulled the caliper and looked at the pads. The reason I say that is I looked at mine and thought I had lots of pad left but when I got them out where I could really see the pads they were pretty thin.
Has the back wheel been off lately?

Replaced the rear tire at 5500 mi the shop said that the brakes looked real good. Other than that I never messed with it. I will take the thing apart this weekend probably depending on the feedback here. Thanks...

Well look at the pads. Sure a 5500 miles they were good, but 10k now, think about it  O0

If it is almost like a growl, a lot of the bikes do that after a bit.  Mind did.
