What those of us that polish are doing is making our wheels as slick as possible...any type of coating needs an anchor pattern to adhere to (rough surface profile) then, there goes your shine....any type of coating that would work on a polished surface would probably involve heat, and adhesion promoting chemicals....then if it did not last, it would be hell to sand off....the beauty of polishing, is its much more forgiving than chrome...if you scratch it, sand it out....if you scratch chrome its over....if you change your own tires, chances are, your gona scratch your wheel
