How big an area is "Ruston area?"  Just Ruston, or all of Lincoln Parish, Northwest Louisiana, Northeast Louisiana or all of North Louisiana?

In any case - Wreck Tech!!

Pretty darn good!!!  Actually, from Tensas Parish. Did go to NLU though.  Back in the Joe Profit, (NLU), Phil Robertson (Of Tech & Duck Commander fame) and Terry Bradshaw (Tech & Steelers) played.

Sadly I agree when making comparisons since the 90s.  ULM or whatever the heck is it called now sucks.  Tremendous change in student body in last 10-15 years.  Can't even field a decent baseball team.  Being an old-timer I think the joint started deteriorating when John David Crow left.  Oh well - there's always LSU.  Too bad they have "No" Miles for a coach.

But then, look at Tech's famed basketball program.  Any comments?

You went to one of those DIRECTIONAL colleges

Had to tell you what part of the state you were in.... ;D

But I will say, had a whole lot more fun in Monroe than I did in Ruston on the weekends... O0

Fun in Ruston the weekends?  You must be joking!  The only fun is to be had outdoors, in the woods, lakes, etc.

As for Tech's basketball program, as a cousin of Leon Barmore, it pains me to see the Lady Techsters not on top.  However, it is a bit difficult to recruit national talent to such a limited area.  As for ULM, as it is now known, I never thought I'd see the day when the Demons of Northwestern State would be a difficult match!  IN ANY SPORT!!!  You are right, though, the student body has shifted dramatically.  Pretty sad, really.
