Ok I get it, No rideing today
« on: November 23, 2006, 01:26:57 PM »

Ya ever have one of those days when a bike just dosen't want to be rode. Its a beautiful day, I got my X out cause she needed gas, and both bikes need a ride to charge up the battery. I waited to long for the wifes bike, it rolled over then started clicking. I hooked up the charger and went to gas up the X I totaly forgot my new pin # on the debit card. I paid cash, but it bothered me so much that I was not enjoying the ride. I came home with less than 20mi on the X. I was intending to gas up her bike and ride it enough to put a good charge on the battery. I had trouble with every thing side covers didn't want to fit, I banged my head on the grip, I started the bike to let it warm up while I was putting the seat back on, droped the bolt for the seat, and burned my finger on a exh pipe getting it back. By the time I had that bike ready to roll I was ready to bite the heads off Barby dolls. It's still setting in the drive, and I'm having a cold beer. Women say we can't take hints.

I thought the old saying was " A bad day on the bike is better than a good day at work"  At least you weren't at work O0 O0

Been there...I have literally got to the end of the road I live on, and turned around, and put her up. It may be superstitous, but sometimes you have to listen to your gut...it can be something real simple, that winds up being life changing...I trust my gut

AMEN! I have turned around a block from the house and I have geared up and not even thrown a leg over. When that little voice says "Leave it", it's best to "Let it be"

But......

I gave everyone time to get thier legs under the table yesterday (about 11:) and I hauled butt to Dallas. It was a fantastic day for riding. Hardly any traffic. I rode 69 to 175, then 75 to Allen. Whats funny is I was dreading the ride and when I got here in 5 1/2 hours, having a blast all the way up, I wanted to keep riding. The really tough part was going through the small towns where the houses are close to the road. The smell of Thanksgiving dinner was everywhere!  :D  I made the ride on only an apple and a
V-8.  :) I made up for it when I got here though. My daughter-n-law had cooked a fine meal just for my son and I.

Last time I ignored those hints, I eventually dropped my bike on a hill.  Broke a mirror, and scratched the rear gearbox.  Shoulda listened to the hints.
