New here...couple of newb questions
« on: October 30, 2006, 08:32:35 PM »

I hate to be the newb and ask the same questions people have answered before but...I did a quick search and really didn't come up w/the answers I was looking for, well here they go....

Whats the difference between a VTX and a VT? i'm looking into getting an older VT and basically do what alot of people do to it...bigger tire out back, change the rare fender, exhaust and maybe the forks....it's a much older VT 700..85 if i'm not correct...just wanted to know how readily are parts available and how hard/costly would it be to do the above....

thx for any help guys!!!

I had an '86 VT700C, otherwise known as a Shadow. There is a world of difference in those 20 years...  :o

The main difference is that the VTX comes in only a 1300 or 1800cc engine size.

Also can say from a VT1100 and a VTX 1800, the 1800 is balanced alot better even though it weighs about 250 + lbs more.
