Just got my bike!

Just returned from buying m bike in Madison, WI.  Once I figured out I wasn't going to frostbite anything the cold wx riding was ok.  Snow was on the ground and it was in the twenties when I rolled into my bro n lawz garage in IA the first night.  Yesterday I rode to my folks near Branson, MO with a couple hour detour to see m uncle (he had a Harley about fifty years ago).  Today took some twisties through AK and finally made it home.  That Mustang seat with backrest sure was a life saver.....'er bun saver!
After the twisties I now know I need a set of progressive shocks on the tail end of this thing wallow wallow wallow!  I've had four or five folks come up to me in the three days I've had it and wanted to know what the hell it was :-)

I think I'm gonna call it a HondaDavidson  ;)

Nothing like 20 degree wx to let you know how the air flows around that fairing!

Looking fwd to meeting up with some of you folks. 

Man, that is one BIG bike!

Just tried to edit and add the "whi" letter.  My keyboard letter wx z crapped out.  Oh well, that's why there are only m's above.

Honda shall in no way be a substitute for the word Harley and shall in to way be associated with the word Davidson.   >:(

In an earlier post you said " I think I'll call it a HondaUltraGlideClassic". Are you sure you  wanted a Honda or did ya really want a Harley?

Anyway,glad you made the trip safely.

03-C U-green It is neither those in the round nor the square that reach the top, but those in the spiral.... Now have added a red ''07 Gold Wing with everything except an AIRBAG!!  SOLD THE WING  SAD DAY!!

Bought new Harley boots at Sears (HEY, they were on sale), gortex foot liners with snomobiling socks, two pair long johns, jeans, chaps, sweatshirt, and a big ugly ol set of WalMart winter insulated bibs, lined   leather jacket, dickie, applewarmer, and my 22 yr old Bell Tourstar full face helmet with all the earfoam gone bye bye (Santa's bringin me a new helmet :-). 
Also had some Vetter winter riding gloves.  Felt like the little brother in "Christmas Story".  Figured if I fell down, I'd never get back up!

My knees and fingers got a bit cold and I had a non stock visor (tinted, couldn't find the old clear one....what fun driving at night with that on).  I ended up driving one handed and holding my visor closed or taking my left had and holding it across my right arm looking like some strange salute (BUNCHES of air flowing up my legs and hitting my helmet, keeping the visor cracked a bit).  Have to work on the aerodymanics of the fairing.  Need a taller windshield to move the turbulent air back a bit and have to find or fab some lowers to match the fairing.  I parked the bike next to my bro n laws Ultra Classic and he sets a bunch closer to the fairing and the fairing rides quite a bit lower to his seat height.  At 80 the turbulence blurred my vision unless I did the wierd salute or leaned way fwd.  I'll get it all worked out.

Got to head back up to Arkansas.  Love those twisties!

I also said in a previous post that I have an obtuse sense of humor :P
Had an AMF lowrider on order (re-up bonus) back in '79, but didn't stay in the AF so it never made it home.  Harley went on to price themselves out of my wishlist quite awhile ago.  Ever since the VTX came out I wanted Honda to build something that would go up against a classic.  When I saw this bike it was just what I wanted (except for the bling paintjob, but I like it).  Anyway.....I'm just polking fun at Harley.  And please, no flames bout that statement.  They're a great bike, if you want 60hp off the showroom floor  ;)
