?? Help ?? Needed
« on: September 23, 2013, 09:19:56 AM »

So, I was riding to work the other day and got to the gate at the parking garage, could not find nuetral while bike was running so I turned it off and got my card key out and opened the gate. Put bike in nuetral but would not start. I tried everything but still nothing. Green nuetral light on and heard fuel pump come on but when I push the start button, green light goes out and nothing happens. A few minutes later it starts up like there is nothing wrong.

Today, I stall at a stop light and the same thing happens, few minutes later it starts as if there is nothing wrong.

All of these times the bike started normally in the morning and when leaving to come home from work.

Any ideas?????

Mine did that and I had to clean the kill switch twice in a week to clear it up!  But at the time I also cleaned up the grounds, so ...could have been either at the time for me.

Clean the start switch while you're working on the kill switch. The little contacts in there get out of adjustment. And they work both relays. One relay opens turning off the head lights while the second one closes engaging the starter. It's a slick system that removes the headlight drain just as you need the most battery draw to turn the starter. But the switch itself is flimsy internally.

I don't care what other people think. They don't do it very often!
Of Course it's dirty. It's hard to clean when the tires keep moving.
