PASSENGER FLOORBOARD HELP
« on: September 05, 2006, 09:51:27 AM »

I just installed the Cobra floorboards for the passenger.  Problem is they won't fold up because of the saddle bags.   I'm guessing a bracked or adapter of some sort to move it up a a couple of inches would do the trick.  Anyone know if something like this exists?

I have leatherlyke bags and I had the same problem when I ordered the Cobra front swept passenger floorboards.  Had to return them and get the Cobra classic floorboards which gave me about 3/16 inches clearance under the saddlebags.  They are the same length as the swept floorboards, but are kind of half moon shaped, which I think look better when they are stowed in the up position.

I do have the classics and they won't fit with the Honda bags.  Sounds like I might have to get something custom made.  Anyone know of someone that can machine a bracket?

Don't know what bike you have Jason, but Cyclistics has some extensions that drop the floorboards down and forward for the R models, may have some for other models by now.

After 24000, I have only done normal maintenance.  I also had to replace the switch for the front brake light.  No major repairs though
