Where's a tire shop that is reasonable in price and you can trust, located anywhere from the West to North side of town? Friend of mine ran over some glass and punctured his rear tire. His 240 tire.... OUCH!

I don't know about NW, but Discount Motorcycle Tire in Pasadena are very good and about the best prices around. They have an excellent deal on a 250, if that will fit.

Here's my buds comments about C&C:

I'm not sure who you Houston guys take your bikes to at this point and time, but if you ever need to find a great shop, go on up to Spring, and take your bike to C & C Cycle. The owner is a true biker, loves these bikes, works on everything from cruisers to dirt bikes and LOVES them, and totally knows what he is doing. He is way reasonable on prices and takes great care of the bike.

I just got a new rear tire and kurayakan ISO Grips, he mounted, balanced, and tested the tire, as well as installed the grips for me, total including tax for EVERYTHING, was only $250.  Now THAT is a great deal if you ask me.

OK - I'm now impressed with C&C Cycle in Spring and the owner, Rob.  I originally ordered the Avon Venom R's for both front and rear for my 1800F, but he ordered the front Bias ply because he could not find a listing for the front radial, and the Avon rep he spoke to indicated there was no problem mixing a radial and bias ply on a bike. 

I spoke to him this morning about what I had found out about mixing of radial and Bias ply - basically an absolute NO-NO.  I was able to direct him to the right tire listed in the Avon Catalog for Goldwings and he is ordering the new radial front and will switch out the tires for me at no cost. 

I'm impressed with his customer relations and friendliness.  He has a real small shop on Sawdust, and doesn't have a whole lot of stuff in stock, but is willing to get whatever you want.  He isn't doing engine maintenance stuff except for oil changes, but has a decent setup for tire changing, including an electronic spin balancer.

Price on the tires was consistent with what you can get most anywhere on line, and cheaper than quite a
few.  He charges $40 / tire to remove the wheel from the bike, change the tire and reinstall.  I also got my Kury Iso Flame grips and a throttle boss from him which he installed at the same time for $10.

He might be worth your while to check him out if you need tires or other minor stuff.  Their website also includes an online shop.
