spark plugs stuck
« on: May 08, 2012, 08:43:45 AM »

it's been a while since i've posted but i need some help.

doing routine  maintenance on a 2004 1300s and i can't get 2 spark plugs out.
they are the 2 recessed deeper (1 on each side)

i cant get the socket around the plug (to grip it) to turn it out.
i've used a deep wall socket and the tool that comes with the bike.

anyone ever had this happen?
any suggestions?

i dont think they are cross threaded either.

I use a deep socket that is made for my lawn mower that I got at Sears (thinner wall).  Run the bike and heat-up the heads for expansion and then try to remove when you turn her off.  Don't get burned!!!

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally wornout, shouting..."What a Ride!"

Also spray some WD-40 when it is hot and the heat will suck it into the threads.
