My Latest Toy!
« on: December 05, 2011, 09:32:32 AM »

I have given up riding and pinched pennies for three years so I could afford this new toy.  It arrived Friday night from Mississippi.  I can't wait for it to dry out enough so I can get to work.  Any helpers out there?

Now, maybe I can start riding again.

Cha-ching!!!!  I know this drought is sucking big time, but b/c of it there is some work for all those tree trimming/cutting down businesses.  YOu'll have that machine paid off in no time.  I have a buddy, that has a tree trimming company and boy is he busy right now.  Be carefull though, it is a dangerous job taking down large trees.

The only way I could afford this chipper is because the prices are depressed in this bad economy.  I hope I can save enough $$'s before the economy picks up to buy a decent skid loader with low hours.  Used construction equipment is rather plentiful right now.

I would strongly consider trading the Goldwing for a small skidloader in great condition!

No woodmizer. :)  For years I have been cutting cedar trees, then cutting them into pieces small enough so I could lift them to load in a lowboy 16' trailer.  Then I would haul to a burn pile and unload.  I get slower each year and it seems the cedar is growing back faster than I can get it cleared.  Of course getting old doesn't help much as far as me keeping up in this game.

Now I can cut and chip it on the spot and keep on going.

Well your chipper should do the job and a fast one at that! Looked at them before and only way I
was going to buy one was used and even then they were pricey. My father-in-law has a saw mill
and was going to chip up all the slabs that were left over after used them to heat our house in winter.
You should have quite a bit of multch and is better to let it go back to the earth than burn it.
