If there is a http://www.discountelectronics.com/index.php near where you live, you can find a good deal. You may luck out and it will have office. If not, you can download and install open office for free http://www.openoffice.org/ It is very compatible with office, it does have some very minor issues when dealing with Office 2010 files, but you can't beat that it is free. For email, there are several free options You can use Thunderbird http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/ or you can use Windows Live Mail http://explore.live.com/windows-live-mail?os=other

I've bought two from Refurb Depot and been more than happy with the price and equipment.

Check 'em out: http://www.refurbdepot.com/Notebooks.cfm.

I just started a new job and they bought me an MSI, I never heard of them before that, anyway I have been really impressed with it so far. I asked them how much it cost and they said under $500.00. They said they got it at COSTCO. The owners son is from China/Japan, I'm not sure which, he said MSI makes most of the computers parts for nearly all laptops and recommended getting that brand. The one I have has wireless, web cam, 320GB hard drive, 4GB ram, and 15.6 inch HD screen

I plan on getting my wife one.
