couple of questions
« on: August 17, 2006, 07:27:19 PM »

my wifes 750 spirit needs a battery. So i checked with optima (best for cars) and they don't offer any.
So what is the best battery for a bike?
Best place to buy a new battery?
Also need to change oil on my x and her bike also: any place besides the dealer for filters.

oops guess i should have posted this in the garage section

thanks for any input

I always get my oil filters from the dealer (actually HDL) they're as good or better than any and not expensive.

A lot of people swear by Odyssey batteries. They're expensive but supposed to be fantastic.  I'll probably get one of them for the X eventually.  http://www.odysseybatteries.com/

txracer I have a 750 spirit as well. They have a "sensitive" battery are you sure she needs a new battery? If you do not start the bike at least once every 2 weeks you can expect that it may go dead. It even says in the manual. If she does not ride it that often, a batter tender (also reccomended in the manual) would be your best bet. You can find one at walmart for lesss then $20. After having said all of that LMK were you what battery you go with, I will probably replace my in the next 6 months as it is the orginal.
