I forget what they're called, but they make a foam wheel that you chuck up in a drill. Liberally cover it with a (cheap) mild abrasive, like valve grinding compound, and let 'er rip. Often. Because polished aluminum is a major PITA to care for. Chrome, powdercoat, or Ceracote is the way to go. Even paint, if you don't mind frequent touchups.

I work at a body shop and we always use Steel Wool to polish and clean chrome.  Never had an issue.  I use it on my bike and then Windex inbetween.  Just my 2 cents. :flag:

I like to use Nufinsh.  it comes in a small tin thats filled with a cotton material that is infused with some kind of wax i guess.  it works great to remove the water spots and road grime.

Someone mentioned to me about spraying Scrubbing Bubbles (tub cleaner) stuff on the wheels, letting it sit and then rinsing it off.  Has anyone heard of this before?
