How much for the bmw?
Motorcycle Consumer News $9,200.00
KBB site Retail $ 9,090.00 Trade In $ 6210.00
BMW forums recent sales $ 7,800.00-9,400.00 Milage varies greatley and effects price accordingly. None of the recently sold bikes have milage this low. Most of them have twice this milage. Many of the folks on the BMW forum have gone well over 150K. The K series engine has a reputation as being bullet proof.
For mods I've added, the low milage on it and brand new bodywork it has due to the driveway incident before the Arkansas trip.....I think it's a steal for $ 8,000.00 if you want a BMW K1200 GT. I haven't posted it for sale anywhere yet but i need to get it done. Call if you want to ride it or talk about it. I'm willing to turn it loose cheap just so I don't have to mess with posting and selling it somewhere. The only thing it needs at this time is a front tire. The rear is brand new.
This is a re-post of comments I made on one of the BMW forums.........
The K1200GT is the more "touring" version of the K1200 series but not as "Goldwing" heavy as the LT model. My GT has factory criuse control, heated seat and grips, hard luggage, electric windshield, a brand new 52 liter GIVI top box, brand new rear tire (5 miles on it) with a great Corbin seat and other extra stuff. The bike looks and is perfect with the exception of one scratch on the right hard bag that has been touched up (garage mishap, my fault). I purchased it with less than 2 thousand miles on it from a guy here in Houston and it has 12232 miles on it now. Most of those are long distance trips when I first got it. My last long ride was to Arkansas last September. I ride it at least once a month and it's on a Battery Tender when I'm not riding it. Always garaged. I wouldn't hesitate to get on it today and ride across the country. All maintance has been done by (anal retentive) me or warranty work by the dealer. I have "Detailed Files" on everyting done to it.
I just don't ride it anymore because I have so many bikes and I've been wanting a Goldwing for really long term touring now that I'm retiring. But every time I ride the GT, I ask myself why I want to sell it. It's super quite, smooth and wind buffet free at speed. It's almost boring. The faster you go the more stable this bike is and it's a power house. The power is electric. It's the most quite and smoothest bike I've ever ridden, even the goldwing. I installed bar backs and lowered the pegs for a more relaxed ride. At 5'6" I do have a slight reach to the bars, that's why I put bar backs on it.
I have always wanted a "wing" and it will be better for me and my gal on rides lasting weeks at a time. I will miss it when it's gone.
