Shouldnt I be able to ??

   To start my 1300R with it in gear, side stand up and the clutch pulled in ??? Killed bike at a light today tried for a quick restart and it wouldn't turn till i shifted into neu.. i could have sworn i use to be able to do that ???? if i should. what wrong ?? side stand seems to work correctly. isn't there on more switch i need to check ??

Hangs head.. yea is did  rookie mistake !!  :couch:

So what switch has gone bad?? is there one hiding under the cover on the left side cover for the clutch or something. i can see the one on the kick stand. just wondering where the other on is ??

If memory serves, you should have two little 90 degree spade connectors at the front of your clutch lever. Make sure they're connected and unbroken (they can be connected to either terminal, but they both need to be hooked up).

I believe you suffer from SUCPD (Stand Up Cluth pulled Disfunction)  :stickpoke: ;D

You might need to check the kickstand switch as well since you can start the bike just fine in neutral.  It could have a bad connection or just a bad device.

had ellen on the bike as well.. i am going tp check those switches this evening, i did pull my clutch cable the other day and relubed it. perhaps i bumped something loose.. no matter, it will give me something to do in the garage since its going to be nasty and cold for the next few days..

Good on matap.. i will remeber that on for sure..  :c

After one really nasty ride in the rain, my clutch lever switch was all gunked up...  went after it with some contact cleaner, fixed it right up.

it was the clutch lever switch.. i sprayed it with wd40 and worked it real good and it works like its supposed two now
