Sunday? How 'bout "MOD-day"!
« on: February 15, 2010, 12:28:53 PM »

Yesterday was a great day at the TXVTXN house!! I have had 3 items sitting on my desk in the "To Do" box that finally got done!

The first was PAPA's Down Under Bracket...got the brakes done at the same time and I love the look! I will be blacking out this part of the bike later so it will not stand out as much but here is a picture of what it looks like as of now. I have the "Foots Mod" so it will look different compared to other 1300's.

The next item was Doug's Open Air Intake. This is the one I was more excited to get done because of the performance difference it would provide. I also did the SCAR mod and installed Glen's Permanent Mount A/F Needle. Here is a picture of the finished product.

I was fortunate enough to get all of this done in about 1.5 hours which gave me plenty of time to test out my handy work. Once I got the needle set at 2.5 turns out, the bike fired right up, no need for the choke anymore!! I read all of the reviews of Doug's intake but until I got out on the bike and rolled my throttle, I did not understand what everyone was talking about. It is a TOTALLY new bike!! Holy SH#T does this thing have pick-up now!! I am looking forward to the next ride I have with my buddies to see what they think!!

Thanks for looking!!

Looking good and wondering how your air box mod will work in the rain.I have the Tornado on my 1300 and in the rain it begins to bog down and not want to run.In a small rain not to bad but anything harder and you might as well pull over.I have tried several different covers the one that came with it and the chrome one they sell it is a bit better but not much.

The filter is oiled so it will repel rain well but in a down-pour, there is a cover that can be slipped over it.  If I get caught in a down-pour, it won't matter because I am pulling over somewhere!!
