Texas Open Carry Petition

Just got this in an email.  I signed it.  But I'm sure it will not happen....

A bill is being considered to allow residents of Texas to carry their guns openly in a holster. Like the old west days. I like the idea. If a criminal knows you are armed they might reconsider doing a crime against you. The link for the petition is below if you want to look at it.

just because someone passes a test doesn't mean someone has the good sense to carry.Open carry may also help us keep an eye on legal gun carrying knuckleheads . right now we don't know who they are. would prefer chl holders wear their weapons outside.I signed up.

Any type of email petition is not legal. Any petition has to have a signature and address of the person that signs it to be legal.

I am not to sure about open carry. Some people are nuts but can pass the application.

so if their nuts and pass the application, wouldn't you rather have it outside so you can see it and know who they are rather than concealed and guess. course the bad guys will just hide it anyway.

They might also just take you out first. I have no problem with others carrying openly, but I'd rather have mine concealed. That way I can just be a good witness if the odds are against me, or if a shootout will put others at risk. Just one more way to add options, or the element of surprise...........
