Polar Express
« on: December 15, 2009, 10:39:56 AM »

My family and I rode the Polar Express last night out of Palestine.

We were expecting cold weather, but yesterday was unusually hot.  So it was on the train.

But, it was alot of fun.

Shea, who is in Kindergarten, is also having a "Polar Express" party day at school tomorrow.  The principal is going to read the book, and they are going to have pictures with Santa.  They are all very excited.  The PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) was trying to get decorations together for the background of the pictures.

I opened my mouth and said, "Well, since the theme is "Polar Express" couldn't somebody paint the train on a piece of plywood or something and use it for the background.

The PTO president said with a surprised expression, "Can you do that!?"

I said, "I never have, but I can try."

***open mouth, insert foot.***  We need an icon for that.

But, after all of the worry and fighting the girls off to keep them from "helping" me, I think it turned out well.  I have never painted anything, and there are plenty of flaws, but it will look good in the pictures.

It's 8'x8'.  Two sheets of Luanne Plywood.

And so you can see the second car...

I'm proud of how it turned out.  Now, how am I going to get it to the school on the VTX?

Your chances of success are directly proportional to the degree of pleasure you derive from what you do.
