Gumbo, you won't know unless you stick your finger inside the wheel and turn the bearing.  You have to check and see if it turns smooth or rough.  Once it gets bad enough it can lock your rear up.  :ohwow:

the reason you don't realize the bearings are bad is because they are not a load carrying bearing. the flange bearings are pilot bearings for the axle to go through the final drive. the true wheel bearings carry all the load. good thing too, definetly don't want your wheel bearings going out at 70mph on the highway. good luck and ride safe.
