Flat Tire on a RIDE
« on: July 30, 2006, 12:26:01 PM »

Hey X riders, I have a traveling tip for you.  About 1 year ago I bought what was called a donner hose.  This was to go along with the plug kit I have carried for about 3 years.  Never had to us it or even try it until YESTERDAY.  I ran over a large nail on FM 922 west of Gainsville in the middle of nowhere.  I got my plug kit out and plugged the tire and waited for a farmer to come by.  In about 15 minutes one can by adn offered assistance.  I told him what I had and he seem very skeptical fo my idea.  We hooked the donner hose to my rear tire and to one of his tires and WHALLA instant air in my tire.  The hose cost $20 somewher on the internet.  Might be a good idea for all long riders.  My 02 1800 VTX has 43 664 miles on it and never a flat, but it will happen if you RIDE LONG enough.

Check it out www.texastiretoy.com.  Did find one on a BMW web page that the hose was the same price.http://www.bestrestproducts.com/celestia/order/orderform/?recno=73
