Newbie wondering about Highway pegs
« on: August 04, 2006, 05:23:03 PM »

Hi Y'all,

Brand new to this board and this is the first bike I've had in 20 yrs. Finally convinced myself (and mama) that I needed a toy. Bought a 05 VTX-1300S ( I heard Black Bikes were best, so that's what I got ;)  My problem is this: I'm 6'4" and get kinda cramped on the road with feet on the boards. Have looked online at several styles of highway pegs and most of them look like they sit up too high. I think I'd like something about the same level as the running boards but forward and out a little. It's hard to tell from the online pics exactly how they fit.
Any other tall guys have this problem or solution?  Thanks for the help and am looking forward to meeting some of the Metroplex folks.

Kuryakyan cruiser pegs are what I have and love em but you have to buy the pegs extra. They work great but the only problem is they do block the air going to the carb but I am fixing that problem with a new air box.

Larry, Are those pegs above the brake pedal or off to the side?
