Does anyone know if the studs that hold the speedometer on are removable from the speedometer?

I was removing the cap nuts from the studs and one of the studs twisted off. I would rather replace the stud than repalce the speedo.  I did try to remove one but it didn't act like it wanted to come out. Don't want to break anything else.

No Dusty, they are permantly molded into the plastic housing. The head has a grip type surface on the sides of it that the plastic molds to when they make it. You can remove these studs with vise grips and a 1/2 turn, then replace with the bolt of the desired length and some JB WELD. Was a perfect mounting place for my XM antenna and or my SPOT bracket.

Sorry but I didn't have a clue as to what you were talking about.  I had hoped someone would respond so I could learn something.  I had no idea the smartest person on the board on this subject is YOU!!!   Sorry I had no faith!  I am not worthy!!

I'm my own worst enemy. After I stripped the first one, I had no choice except to do some rigging. The speedometer is $170.

Just saw the post!! They are in the plastic housing!! I don't know if you could put a bolt on the back side. I know the speedo does come apart!! Just be careful!!
