Yeah, so....
« on: May 18, 2009, 07:47:13 PM »

Right now, this is how I feel about this house we just bought.  I'll update some more later, but we've spent some money and will be spending more soon. :-\

This is the first time I've really had a chance to read the board since Friday, but atleast we have internet now. :P

The inspector should have insurance if he gives a faulty appraisal. I would talk to him.

Yes, but everything was "working ok" at that point.  I'll go into detail later.

We're going to call, but reading the report, he's pretty much covered the way he worded everything.  The plan is to still give it a go.

GOOD LORD, I just did it again with Opos's post.

Pokerbum may be able to give you some good advice he is a property inspector.
Also if you had a good realtor they should give you some advice. I think you have a certain amount of recourse but a very limited time frame like 30 days or less. So whatever you do do it qucikly and get stuff in writing and pictures.

Did you get a home warranty?  Most thinks will be covered by that.

Lawsuits are expensive and iffy. Unless you have clear evidence that they put sawdust in the transmission, you're stuck Brock. Or unless the defects are pervasive and you can document the hell out of em and then can afford 30k to sue. The home warranty may be some help as long as the money doesn't get t0o high. If it does, then they'll figure out why you aren't covered.

Sorry bout the bad news. If you want me to look at anything, lemme know.
