I've been ticketed for this 4 times and I still dont put it on unless I see a LEO first.   :cuss: It's just a law that serves no purpose other than  to generate revenue.

Actually, it's a law that the insurance lobby convinced a bunch of politicians to pass. It has nothing to do with revenue, but it DOES save lives and prevent injuries. That's why DPS is so avid about seat belt enforcement.

I am do not agree with mandating helmets for motorcycle riders, if they are adults capable of making their own decisions.  That said, I DO wear a full face CF helmet an will not ride without out and believe everyone should.  It is a lot easier to justify when you consider friends, co-workers and family, that will be devestated and, in many cases, burdened with a number of high dollar expenses.  What this state really needs is a mandantory eye protection!  If someone has no helmet, he is a danger to himself by choice.  Without eye protection he can easily become a hazard to anyone around him, on or off the road!

Never thought much about it but I never drive without a seat belt but rarely wear a helmet when riding.

There is one thing that you all might consider before concluding that the seat belt law is a bad idea.  If a car goes out of control, the occupants, including the driver, may well be thrown around in the car.  If that happens, NOBODY is left at the wheel to regain control, and that becomes everyone's problem.  I know what I'm talking about, because it happened to me many years ago on an icy road up north.  (Don't ask me how I managed to get myself back behind the wheel and to recover control of the car because I don't remember).  Ever since then, I have always worn a seat belt.
